Bar-None Donates to Dugouts Project

In the rain and wind Sunday afternoon workers from Bar-None Inc. place the metal roofing on the first four of 16 dugout roofs the company has offered to build for the new Sports Complex in Centralia. Pictured from the left are Clay Larsen, Salkum, John Reeves, Centralia, and Erick Mejia, Centralia. Bar-None has donated the labor and lumber to complete the dugouts. The metal roofing was donated by Tin Man Supply for the first four dugouts. “This kind of work is a real win-win for us. It raises morale, it saves the city a lot of money and we get to do the work looking forward to maybe one day watching our own kids play on these fields,” said David Straub, owner of Bar-None. The Bar-None construction crew will be featured in an upcoming LIFE/Business story next month.
